Hisabkitab (हिसाबकिताब) is Nepal's first independent, automated government accountability tracker. It monitors 100 commitments made by Nepal's elected government, scoring progress daily using automated evidence extraction from 5 major Nepali news sources: Setopati, Onlinekhabar, Ratopati, Ekantipur, and Nayapatrika.

How many Nepal government commitments are being tracked?

Hisabkitab is currently tracking 100 government commitments. Of these, 39 have been completed, 30 are in progress, and 17 have not started. The overall average progress score is 56%.

How does Hisabkitab score government commitments?

Each commitment is scored 0–100 using an AI pipeline that runs daily. The pipeline scrapes 5 Nepali news sources, classifies articles as supporting or refuting each commitment using an LLM, and updates the score based on confidence-weighted evidence. Scores reflect real-world progress, not government self-reporting.

What is the Janata (People's Verdict) system?

Janata is Hisabkitab's public opinion layer. Each day, a 3-signal controversy scorer identifies the top 5 most politically significant news stories. Citizens can vote Support or Oppose on each story, creating a real-time barometer of public sentiment on government actions.

Is Hisabkitab affiliated with the Nepal government?

No. Hisabkitab is a fully independent civic technology project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or funded by any government, political party, or organization. All scoring is automated and based solely on publicly available news.
